Terms of Service

Effective date: September 10, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between the account holder (“you”) and Canadian Professor (“Canadian Professor”, “we”, “us”), operated from Ontario, Canada. By creating an account or using the service at https://canadianprofessor.ca, you agree to these Terms.

Who can use the service

Every account holder must have reached the age of majority in their province or territory. Account holders are either a parent or legal guardian, or an adult beta tester we have specifically invited to evaluate the service.

Only a parent or legal guardian may create a profile that contains information about a real student and authorize that student’s supervised use of the tutor. An invited adult beta tester who is not that student’s parent or legal guardian must use fictional test profiles only and must not enter personal information about a real child.

The account holder is responsible for all activity under the account and for the content submitted through it. Students do not create independent accounts and use the tutor only under the supervision of the parent or legal guardian who holds the account.

Invite-only beta

Access is by invitation only. The service is pre-release beta software provided for evaluation and learning. Features may change, break, or be removed, and the service may be unavailable at times. There is currently no paid subscription or billing.

Educational purpose and AI limitations

Canadian Professor is an educational AI tutor for Ontario high-school Math and Science. It uses a hint-first approach; you or the student may ask for additional guidance or a full solution. It uses multiple AI components, including review and checking steps.

We do not guarantee that responses are correct, complete, current, curriculum-approved, or suitable for submission as graded work. The AI can produce incomplete or incorrect explanations and answers even with review steps in place. Do not rely on the tutor as the only source for important work — verify important work with a teacher, textbook, or other trusted source. The service is not a substitute for a qualified teacher and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Government of Ontario or any school board.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service unlawfully, or to create or share unlawful, harmful, hateful, harassing, or abusive content;
  • attempt to break, overload, disrupt, probe, or bypass the service, its security, or its access controls, or access data belonging to another account;
  • use automated means to scrape, crawl, copy, or harvest the service or its content, except as expressly permitted;
  • share account credentials or allow people outside your household to use your account;
  • submit another person’s personal information without authorization;
  • use the service to engage in academic dishonesty or in any way that breaches your school’s academic-integrity rules;
  • misrepresent your age, identity, or authority to hold the account.

Your content

You are responsible for the questions, images, and other material submitted under your account. You should have the right to submit that content, and you should avoid uploading unnecessary personal or sensitive information, or personal information about third parties.

You keep ownership of the content you submit. You grant Canadian Professor a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, transmit, and display that content, and to share it with the service providers described in the Privacy Policy, only as needed to operate the service and provide it to you. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for backups kept for a limited period and anything we are required to retain for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.

Our content and intellectual property

The service, the website, the software, and their text, graphics, and overall look and feel (excluding your content and third-party materials) are owned by Canadian Professor or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. During the beta we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service for your household’s educational use or, if you are an invited beta tester, to evaluate the service. Curriculum materials and references remain the property of their respective owners.

Availability, changes, suspension, and termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service or any part of it at any time, with or without notice. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached, if it is necessary for security or legal reasons, or if we end the beta. You may stop using the service at any time, and you can ask us to close your account by emailing canadianprofessor.support@gmail.com.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any content or answer will be accurate or reliable.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Canadian Professor will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data or for academic outcomes or grades, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your mandatory consumer-protection rights.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the effective date above and, for significant changes, provide a notice through the service. If you continue to use Canadian Professor after an update takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory rights you have where you live, disputes relating to these Terms or the service are subject to the courts located in Ontario, Canada.
